When a user requests a ride, he or she is agreeing to pay the pre-estimated fare which is displayed to the user before he or she clicks request. This is only a fare estimate and it is based on either fixed or variable costs. The way fares are calculated are usually on a per minute basis, per mile basis, a hybrid mile-minute basis, or a flat fee basis. The pricing for rides may change based upon demand (Surges), times of day, or other variables. Riders will always be shown a fare estimate prior to a ride, and the estimate will show the components and basis that the fare is created.

Nomad discloses our fare calculation method, and a rider may see this calculation by pressing the info button within the Nomad app next to the price. We will always publish the applicable rates at the time of service, and we will always provide an estimated fare to the rider before he or she enters the vehicle. Payment for fares is only done through electronic means (credit or debit card payments). Additionally, Nomad drivers may not solicit or accept cash payment for rides.

A ride is usually composed of both fees and charges that fall into these categories:

  • Service Fee. A service fee may be enacted that allows Nomad to monetize operations.

  • Insurance Fee - This fee represents the cost per mile of the driver's commercial auto insurance.

  • Credit Card Processing Fee - This fee represents the costs of credit card processing charged by the credit card company.

  • Surges. During Times of high demand, prices may have multipliers on them to allow supply to meet demand.

  • Cancellation Fee. If a user requests a ride, but cancels as the driver is driving towards them, then the user may pay a cancellation fee to pay for the lost miles the driver has already driven.

  • Damage Fee. If a rider materially damages a drivers vehicle, then the rider agrees to pay a Damage Fee. This Damage Fee can be up to $250. Nomad will decide the extent of the damage, and it is under Nomad's sole discretion to decide the extent of the damage.

  • Other Charges. Other fees may also be applied that can include Airport pickups, toll roads, etc.

  • Tips. Riders also are allowed to tip drivers. Riders can voluntarily choose the amount to tip a driver, and this tip will be charged to the rider.

General.

  • Facilitation of Charges. All charges are done through a third-party intermediary which include Venmo and Stripe.

  • Refund Policy. Once a user requests a ride and a charge occurs, Nomad has a discretionary refund policy based on the situation. If Nomad does decide to issue a refund, it will be at the sole discretion of Nomad.
