Nomad Rides has and enforces a zero tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use by drivers during any period when a driver is engaged in, or is logged into the Nomad digital network but is not engaged in, a prearranged ride.
Nomad drivers must not engage in alcohol consumption or drug intake while driving, and any driver that attempts to do so will be permanently removed from the Nomad platform and reported to the proper authorities. All Nomad drivers must maintain a 0% alcohol level while driving on the platform. Any driver found to have a blood alcohol level beyond 0% will be permanently banned from the Nomad platform. All drivers must comply with Indiana State laws regarding both drug intake and alcohol consumption. Nomad has a zero tolerance policy towards drivers that engage in any form of drug or alcohol use that could endanger the life of a rider and him or herself.
Drug use and open containers of alcohol are never allowed while using the Nomad apps.
If you’re a driver, by law, you cannot drive while intoxicated. The law prohibits driving while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that impairs your ability to safely operate a vehicle. If you encounter a rider who is too drunk or rowdy, you have the right to decline the trip for your own safety.
If you’re a rider and you have reason to believe your driver may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, ask the driver to end the trip immediately. Then exit the car and call 911. After the driver has ended the trip, report your experience to Nomad by going into our App Settings Page -> Report A Driver. A Nomad representative will then reach out to you as soon as possible.
Investigation Into Driver Offenses
-A rider is able to report driver offenses through the app settings page under the "Report A Driver" section.
-The alleged driver will be indefinitely and immediately suspended from the platform until a final decision can be made regarding the allegations.
-Once we receive a report, a Nomad employee will reach out to the rider to hear the full details of the claim. If the alleged claim is a potential criminal offense, the Nomad employee will report the allegations to a local state officials, and they will take over the lead of the investigation.
-The Nomad employee will then meet with the alleged driver to appeal and provide evidence against the allegations.
-The final decision, based on the facts of the case, will be decided by a Nomad employee to either terminate the driver from the platform or allowing them to remain active. Nomad maintains the sole discretionary ability to remove a driver from the platform for any grounds. Any violation of the zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use while on the platform will lead to immediate termination.
